Marguerite Madden

DIRECTOR/ CUSTOMER SERVICE/ BALLET/ ACRO/ MODERN/ COMP PROGRAM & ACRO SPORT

Marguerite Madden is a professional dancer, choreographer and dance teacher, specialising in ballet, acrobatics, contemporary and jazz. With numerous performances at productions, music videos and events, she has obtained experience in movement facilitation and performance.

She studied dance in High School at the Waterkloof Dance Academy where she graduated high school with honours in Dance Studies and had the opportunity to dance as one of seven dancers in South Africa at the Val White (2012) and Solo Seal awards (2013). Marguerite competed in the American Dance Awards in New York (2007) Boston (2008 & 2014) and Orlando (2006) and received special awards for choreography, technique and performance. In 2011 Marguerite received a perfect score at North Gauteng and SA’s in acrobatics and maintained this score until her last National Championships in 2013.

 

Her professional career started in 2015 after completing her Acrobatics teacher training with A.F.S.A. In 2016 she danced on 2 cruise ships performing 3 shows a day and seeing countries such as Greece, France, Italy, Finland and Sweden and learning various different styles of dancing and teaching methodologies. In 2017 Marguerite started working for dance companies such as Tailormade Group, Live Show Co and Function Junction, where she has had the incredible opportunity to perform in numerous shows and events (such as Afrikaans is Groot and PSL Awards), touring the country and working closely with renowned choreographers.

Marguerite is a qualified Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) Ballet, Modern SABOD and Acrobatics Federation of South Africa (A.F.S.A) teacher. She is also qualified internationally with Acrobatic Arts.

 

Her passion for dancing and movement is quite evident in her life and she wants all of her students to be the absolute best they can be!

Wiehann Smith

TUMBLING INSTRUCTOR

Wiehann started his gymnastics training at the age of 9 and trained with TUKS Gymnastics. During his training Wiehann won various awards including 1st place at the SAGF Nationals Gymnastics Championships.

 

Wiehann started coaching professionally in 2018 and is now a full time coach. His qualifications includes:

· Gymnastics General leader Course

· SAGF Level 1 Coaching Course (Lev 1-3 Artistic Gymnastics)

· SAGF Level 1-4 WAG (Women’s Artistic Gymnastics) Judge

· SAGF Level 1-4 MAG (Men’s Artistic Gymnastics) Judge

· FIG (Federation of International Gymnastics) Level 1 Coaching course (Level 1-8 Artistic Gymnastics) National and International

· First Aid Level 1

 

Wiehann will be completing his FIG (Federation of International Gymnastics) Level 2 Coaching Course early in January 2023 which qualifies him to work with students internationally up to Junior Olympic level.

Wiehann is currently studying at Trifocus Fitness Academy where his main subjects include:

· Sport Coaching Science

· Exercise Science

· Sports conditioning coaching

· Sport Phychology

· Specialised Nutrition

· Exercise in Children

· Sport entrepeneurship

 

His favourite section in Artistic Gymnastics has always been floor (Tumbling). He is looking forward to working with our iMove students.

Miane Shepherd

MODERN/ACRO INSTRUCTOR

Miané Shepherd is a dancer, actress, choreographer and dance teacher who studied dance and drama in high school at Hoërskool Wonderboom and recently graduated with a Diploma in Dance and Musical Theatre from Oakfields College.

 

Dancing from the young age of 4, she is trained in numerous dance styles including contemporary, jazz, ballet, pas de deux, tap, acrobatics, cheerleading and hip-hop. She danced for a nonprofit youth dance company for over 10 years, performed for several live award shows and events including The Ghoema Music Awards, Naledi Theatre Awards and Miss Deaf SA, and various music videos. Miane has also competed nationally and internationally during these years.

Miane is a qualified Acrobatics Arts and Modern SABOD teacher. 

 

​

Miané’s other credits include children’s theatre productions and choreographing a dance piece that not only won her the Pretoria Eisteddfod’s Best Student Choreographer Award but was also episode winner on Kyknet’s Dans in jou Taal. Most recently she has choreographed for Jozi Youth Dance Company’s show Phoenix.

 

She is also experienced in stage managing, modeling , and singing.

Miané strives to constantly and consistently learn and grow as a performer as well as a human being and to cultivate this mindset throughout her life’s journey.

Isabel Schimper

STUDIO MANAGER & ADMINISTRATOR

Isabel holds a Masters degree in Speech-language Pathology and Audiology. She is the owner of a private practice and lectures at the University of Pretoria.  With a long history of national and international public speaking, lecturing, and conference management, NPO involvement  ect,  she is also a wife and the mother of a dancer.  Her wealth of experience in business management, events planning, systems development and human communication is a significant benefit to the iMove team.

Jeannie Erasmus

SOCIAL MEDIA/ DESIGN & PHOTOGRAPHY

Jeannie is a dynamic and creative individual with a diverse background that reflects her multifaceted talents. Armed with a passion for the arts, she went on to study and explore photography, air hostessing, new businesses, and ultimately, her true love—art and digital media.

Having founded her own art studio, Jeannie discovered a new avenue for expressing her creativity and passion - social media. She has found a niche in this ever-evolving landscape. Her expertise in leveraging these platforms allows her to showcase her creative skills in a digital space. Whether it's crafting visually stunning content, coming up with creative marketing ideas or beautifying our brand, Jeannie's creative touch leaves an indelible mark.

Carma van der Merwe

BALLET/ MODERN & ACRO SUBSTITUTE 

Meet Carma van der Merwe, a passionate and dedicated individual making waves in the world of performing arts. Currently pursuing SABOD and Acrobatic teaching qualifications, Carma is classically trained and boasts valuable stage experience. Actively working towards a performance arts degree at the Performance Arts Lifestyle Institute, Carma combines technical excellence with a profound love for storytelling through movement. Stay tuned as Carma continues to evolve as an artist and inspire others through the art of dance.

Jenna Ann Cameron

ACRO SPORT INSTRUCTOR

Meet Jenna-Ann, a dynamic acrobatics teacher who brings a youthful energy to the world of acrobatics. With a passion for movement and a strong foundation in acro, Jenna-Ann holds an AFSA qualification alongside her knowledge in acrobatic arts. Her journey began at a young age, where her love for acro set the stage for a lifelong dedication to mastering the art of acrobatics. Now, as a qualified instructor, Jenna-Ann combines her technical knowledge with a vibrant teaching style, inspiring students to defy gravity and discover the joy of acrobatic expression.

Rochelle Taylor

MODERN INSTRUCTOR

Meet Rochelle Taylor, a dance enthusiast who embarked on her captivating journey into the world of dance at the tender age of 4. With two decades of dance training under her belt, Rochelle is a seasoned performer and an embodiment of grace across various styles, including Ballet, Modern, Contemporary, and Jazz.

Rochelle has not only honed her craft through years of dedication but has also graced the stage at prestigious events, earning acclaim as a multiple-time champion at the IDO World Dance Championships. Her remarkable achievements are a testament to her unparalleled skill and artistry in the world of dance.

​

Currently in her final year pursuing a Bachelor of Sport Science degree, Rochelle brings a holistic understanding of movement and physicality to her dance practice. As a qualified SABOD Modern teacher since 2017, she seamlessly blends technical expertise with a passion for teaching.
